The transition team had been doing a background check just the week before, Young told me.
But on Friday, the transition team confirmed to MSNBC that the Obama’s will be keeping the current White House chef, Cristeta Comerford, the first woman and the first minority (she’s from the Philippines) to serve in that post. — Patricia Calhoun
