Earlier this week, Quiznos announced its plans to give its warm shredded lettuce and overt sexual innuendos more global reach. In fact, the Denver-based chain is already shilling its subs in locations as diverse as Bahrain, Oman, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
Twenty-five countries and territories weren’t enough, though: The company will try to appease the palates of fifteen more countries and territories during the next five years via several hundred new restaurants.
The jury’s still out on whether Quiznos reputation for wacky, nonsensical and/or disturbing ad campaigns will impress Scandinavia, Southeast Asia or other regions the chain plans to invade. Let’s hope all the new franchisees aren’t as unhappy with the company as some were a few years back.
Here’s a walk down memory lane of some of the chain’s most, uh, notable ads throughout the years:
Spongmonkeys debuted in 2004.
“Put it in me, Scott” came out last year.
Quiznos got in bed with Playboy last year, too.
To the tune of Three Blind Mice, the Singimals, aka singing kittens, arrived on the scene last month.
