Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You
We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Jasmine Gardens didn’t last long at 1935 Federal Boulevard. That address now belongs to Masa Asian Kitchen, whose spartan space and spare decor gives no hint of the extensive menu.
The lineup includes tradition Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese dishes, as well as sushi and such specialities as Masa shrimp & scallops (“shrimp and scallops in a tangy mayo sauce”) and basil duck. There’s no liquor, but the kitchen promises coconut H20.
Masa is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. And there’s free delivery with a minimum purchase of $10 in a three-mile radius — a good deal, in an area otherwise almost devoid of Asian options. (In a nod to the more common cuisine along this stretch — Mexican — the combination meals on the promotional menu are all in Spanish.)
