Los Oasis isn’t the only restaurant gearing up to revive some real estate on Boulder’s 13th Street. The former B.Side Lounge, a vast space that includes a backroom with a live music stage that’s been empty since late 2009, also has a new tenant: Shug’s Low Country Cuisine is is getting ready to open later this year.
The eatery is owned by Sean Shelby, who was a partner in Lulu’s Low Country Kitchen on the Hill. Like that place, his new spot will serve a menu replete with Southern specialties, including brisket, ribs and shrimp Creole.
According to signs posted in the windows, the eatery also plans to have a Gospel brunch on Sunday mornings, thereby making use of the entertainment set-up it took over.
No word yet on when Shug’s plans to open. We’ll keep you posted.
