It’s burger week over at Eater National, and in addition to burger history, burger food porn and burger chain analysis, the website plotted fifteen of the country’s hottest burgers on a map… and included Denver’s very own Tarbell’s Southglenn.
That burger, which I once likened to having passionate sex in the car in the driveway because the moment was so charged that sloppily traipsing the extra 25 steps to the house was impossible, also earned our Best Burger award in Best of Denver 2011 and made our list of 100 favorite dishes. Which made it a no-brainer recommendation when Eater asked us for our pick of the hottest burger in Denver.
The double-decker take on a classic hamburger — two velvety patties dripping with gooey American cheese, laden with crisp pickles and smothered with special sauce — took its place among other famous burgers, like the ones at Los Angeles’s Umami Burger and New York City’s Shake Shack.
