Cafe Society served up four Guess Where? posts last week, zigzagging from a rich — and rewarding — bowl of Malaysian shrimp laksa from Phat Thai, to a healthy kale salad from True Food Kitchen, to a dish with sliced lamb, scallions and chiles from a suburban Chinese joint, whose menu includes a few pages devoted to Dongbei (Northeastern Chinese) cuisine.
For correctly identifying that lamb as coming from He-Xing Gardens, Denver Doughboy wins an Eat Denver dining deck. Denver Doughboy, please send your contact info to cafe@westword.com, and we’ll send you the deck. But, really, anyone who buys an EatDenver deck is a winner: For $50, you get 52 cards, each offering a $10 discount at a local, independent restaurant that’s a member of EatDenver (formerly DINR, the Denver Independent Network of Restaurants). You can buy the decks at any Tattered Cover location or at www.eatdenver.com. Or, of course, you can win one right here. Because next Monday, Cafe Society will again award a deck to one of the winners of the previous week’s Guess Where I’m Eating/Drinking posts.
Our work is funded by readers like you who make voluntary gifts because they value our work and want to see it continue. Make a contribution today to help us reach our $50,000 goal! Happy eating….and guessing.
