Crave Real Burgers has been slinging patties out of its original Castle Rock burger bar since 2010 and has since added locations in Colorado Springs and Highlands Ranch. But one of the region’s best burgers is now available in Denver: Crave opened today at 1550 Blake Street with its list of over-the-top creations and boozy milkshakes.
Crave was founded by Jeff and Jeryn Richard, who also own the Old Stone Church in Castle Rock. Richard says he had been scouting Denver for a couple of years before the location — which was previously Provisions Chophaus and T|ACO before that — became available.
While the menu is known for the Fatty Melt, a hamburger patty between two grilled cheese sandwiches, and the Luther burger, which replaces the bun with two doughnuts, Crave isn’t just about dare food. The restaurant’s Love Stinks burger, loaded with onion and garlic, won last year’s Denver Burger Battle. The company points out that its patties are made with 100-percent Colorado beef.
The newest member of the family will have a few new tricks up its sleeve on the food menu and will also be the first with a full bar in addition to adult shakes like the Bananas Foster and the Grasshopper. Crave will be open for lunch and dinner until 10 p.m. nightly.
