Good news: The highways and streets in the Denver area appear to be in much better shape this morning than they were at this time yesterday, when the commute was like either a tobbagan ride or a still photo, depending on where you were.
And for that, we likely have social media to thank.
Throughout the day, folks on Twitter bashed the Colorado Department of Transportation and the City of Denver for what was perceived as a slow response to a snowstorm severely underestimated by many if not most forecasters.
And while CDOT and Denver spokespersons did damage control, the agencies themselves marshaled their resources to avoid being lambasted for a second consecutive day with tweets like these, which target bureaucrats, “weather douches” and more.
