Two of Denver’s top-notch dance nights, Lipgloss and Mile High Soul Club, have teamed up to ring in 2015 with Soul Gloss New Year’s Eve, a party for audiophiles and vinyl purists. The Meadowlark’s intimate main room will transform into a sweaty dance floor as Lipgloss DJs Michael Trundle, aka boyhollow, and DJ Tower throw down everything from David Bowie and the Stones to Cut Copy and LCD Soundsystem. Wander upstairs to the bar’s enclosed and heated patio, and you’ll enjoy the best in Motown, Northern soul, funk and vinyl rarities as Mile High Soul Club’s Tyler Jacobson, DJ Dogboy and Steve Cervantes spin all night long.
“This party is for people who love music — people who really know and love music and care about music,” says Trundle. More than a decade ago, best friends Trundle and Jacobson started Lipgloss together, and tonight’s big bash brings the two full circle as their devoted crowds get to share two dance floors for a night of great tunes.
Soul Gloss heats up at 9 p.m. at the Meadowlark, 2701 Larimer Street. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased via soulglossdenver.com; limited tickets will be available at the door the night of the event. For more information, visit the website or Facebook event page.
