The galleries at the Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder are hosting a cross-cultural melange of exhibits that will get you in the mood for the Day of the Dead, beginning with an installation by Susan Wechsler and Laurie Beth Zuckerman of found-object and mosaic altars and shrines that meld meld the artists’ Jewish heritage with Mexican traditions. Claudia Roulier carries on the assemblage theme with work in the Polly Addison space, and people are invited to bring small mementos of the dead to add to a public Dia de los Muertos altar in the McMahon Gallery.

Michael Warren Contemporary brightens up the fall season with a group exhibit showcasing gallery artists who manipulate sheer color on the canvas in different but complementary ways. As the title Drips Drops Pours & Spins implies, this show celebrates the joy of process as utilized by Raul de la Torre, Quintin Gonzalez, William Loveless and Melanie Rothschild.
