In an experiment that’s part exhibition and part studio visit, Mai Wyn is hosting painter Peter Illig for a pop-up open studio where art-goers can chat with the artist and view past work as he creates new ones. Visit Illig’s website first for a preview for a look at his dark figurative style.
Charles Parson: Still and Centered Point

The renowned sculptor Charles Parson kicks off a series of exhibits scheduled this fall of new works inspired by the Western vistas of his family retreat in southern Colorado. Z|art will feature sculptures large and small, as well as wall constructions and drawings. Two more Parson exhibits, father/son shows with work by his talented offspring, Collin, as well, open later this fall at Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and Mai Wyn Fine Art.

The DAM’s last-Friday after-hours extravanganza continues with a portrait-themed evening that includes tattoo artist Ryan Willard of Marion Street Tattoo & Gallery riffing on the museum’s iconic Deborah Butterfield horse sculptures, a discussion with Native Arts Artist-in-Residence Jeffrey Gibson about his current film project, a chat with artist Daniel Sprick and more.
Rock, Paper, Scissors… a fine art event

Join the Good Thieves for a new exhibit showing off group works in many mediums, showing how the small collective reaches beyond the parameters of printmaking studio’s main gig. Art on display will include affordable handmade sketchbooks, t-shirts, jewelry, sandblasted stone works, prints and more and more and more.
