Patricia Calhoun’s Wake-Up Call post about Mayor Michael Hancock seeking a win-win-win regarding a potential move of the National Western Stock Show raised a red flag for one reader, who thinks a potential compromise wouldn’t result in a victory for Denver at all.

Keep the stock show in Denver writes:

Saddle your yee-haw for a moment. He has left open the door that a ‘win-win-win’ involves moving the Stock show to the aforementioned hinterlands under the loophole of Aurora annexing the land so that it is technically ‘in Denver.’ That is not a win for Denver. It is not a win for downtown. It is not a win for those of us who believe that legacy matters. It is not a win for the eventual ‘real’ blight that will be created in a giant sink hole to be known as ‘the OLD stock show facilities’ (ya know, kinda like ‘the OLD Gates facility’ or ‘the OLD St. Anthony’s Hospital’).
