Residents of the southern suburbs were excited when chef Mary Nguyen, who’d gained a strong following at Parallel Seventeen (now P17, and celebrating its tenth birthday this year), opened Street Kitchen Asian Bistro in the Vallagio development in Englewood in January 2011. But since then Nguyen has added Olive & Finch to her eating empire on East 17th Avenue, and last month Street Kitchen ground to a halt.

Well, crud. This is bad news — this was one of our go- to places when we didn’t know where else to go, or when we had out-of-town guests who wanted something different. I’m going to miss the pork belly roll….and all the nice parking, which her other spots don’t seem to have.
