Dogs have and always will be man’s best friend. They’re so amiable, a bunch of pooches from the Denver Animal Shelter have volunteered to come walk some humans this morning. Unleash yourself from the office for an hour or two and take a walk around the park with a new pal: You might just make a friend for life.
The Black Power Mixtape at Mutiny Information Cafe (8 p.m. Wednesday, free)
As a part of the ongoing Anarchist movie series, tonight Mutiny will present a revolutionary film of clips shot by Swedish journalists that was lost for thirty years. The Black Power Mixtape includes fascinating interviews with Angela Davis, Bobby Seale, Stokely Carmichael and more from a very turbulent time of American history that also reflects on today, since it interweaves commentary by such contemporary voices as Erykah Badu and Talib Kweli.
Lala’s Movie in the Park: Ghostbusters at Governor’s Park (8:15 p.m. Wednesday, free)
Grab the family and roll over to Capitol Hill for one of the most entertaining movies ever created. Sure, you’ve seen Ghostbusters before – but it’s going to be fun to share it with so many other people under the stars – and hopefully not through fire and brimstone. Grab a beer or glass of wine from the beer garden, because the proceeds will be donated to the Capitol Hill United Neighborhood fund. The movie starts at dusk, but if you arrive early, there will be games and live music in the beer garden.
