Colorado may be light on snow this year, but the state is still providing plenty of athlete inventory for the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics this year.
According to Team USA, 31 Colorado athletes will participate in the Olympics, which take place across northeastern Italy from February 6 to February 22. That’s seven more than the next closest state, Minnesota.
Colorado will produce Olympians competing in skiing, snowboarding, figure skating, bobsledding, ice hockey, mountaineering and ski jumping. They hail from mountain resort towns like Aspen, Steamboat Springs and Winter Park, as well as Colorado Springs, Erie and Littleton. Eagle County alone has produced thirteen Team USA members this year, while Denver is completely MIA.

Team USA
Notable names include gold medal winners Lindsey Vonn, Mikaela Shiffrin and Red Gerard, but the Rocky Mountain roster is loaded with talent and several other medal winners, too.
Colorado’s contributions to the 2026 Winter Olympics doesn’t end with Team USA, either. Sarah Schleper, a 46-year-old alpine skier from Glenwood Springs, will compete for Mexico this year after skiing for Team USA in the 2000s.
