Video virtuoso and 2006 MasterMind winner Johnny Morehouse is hip to the fact that these days, people have short attention spans. Really short attention spans. And really short attention spans call for really short films . Five minutes sounds good; five minutes is about the maximum amount of time you can expect to have someone’s undivided attention.
So Morehouse created the 5F: Five Minute Film Fest, a showcase of films ranging in length from thirteen seconds to five minutes on the dot. Appropriately, this installment of the fest is the fifth and includes films by local creators such as Nick Falls, Jim Hickox, Ben Kronberg, Zee Zarbock, Scott Adderton and John Hartman. Prizes will be awarded for the best films, and popcorn and beverages will be available. The fest takes place on Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30 at Orange Cat Studios, 2625 Larimer Street, at 7:30 p.m. Bring $5 with you for the cover charge; visit www.brainboxcreative.biz or e-mail Morehouse at johnnyhongkong@hotmail.com for information.
Will you step up to support Westword this year?
At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $23,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
