Denver’s PrideFest kicks off its weekend celebration of community, heritage and family today at Civic Center Park. Because our PrideFest is widely considered one of the country’s top ten Pride events (more than 210,000 people attended last year), you can expect teeming hordes of revelers. And the entertainment — including live music, theater, a DJ-driven dance tent, a Latin stage and more than 250 vendors and exhibits — will be non-stop, too. Bring the kiddos for today’s Family Field Day, and dress up the pooches for the Dogs in Drag event. If you love a parade, come back tomorrow for the 33rd annual Pride Parade, which sets off from Cheesman Park at 9:30 a.m. and travels down Colfax to Civic Center Park. The entire weekend event is “Fun. Free. Fabulous!” Fest hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow; for a detailed schedule and information, visit www.denverpridefest.org or call 303-733-7743.
