Inspired by the era when burlesque dancers’ lives were a continuous feather-and-sequin laden traveling spectacle, a group of New York neo-burlesque performers have taken their show on the road. And now, Dangerous Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go-Go! — starring Clams Casino, GiGi La Femme, Anita Cookie and Minnie Tonka — stops at “Off the Clock,” a late-night burlesque fest at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret.

Eventually, the girls will reach Las Vegas for the annual Exotic World Weekend burlesque festival and reunion in June. Clams admits that though they’re all excited to check out burlesque scenes in the cities along the way, the main motivation for the trip is her own fear of flying. “I’ve been begging for years, ‘Doesn’t anyone want to drive to Vegas?’” she says. “This trip really generated from the fact that I’m agoraphobic and have wonderful friends.”

Clams also hopes the show is a chance for Denver burlesque fans to get a taste of the New York scene. “We run the gamut of burlesque — classic, pretty comedy — and I think the show is a really good representation of New York burlesque.”

Catch the act tonight at 11 p.m. at Lannie’s, 1601 Arapahoe Street, before it moves on. Tickets are $20, $25 for VIP. For info, contact 303-293-0075 or visit www.lannies.com or www.burlesqueonthegogo.com.
