It takes more than good looks to be a contestant in tonight’s Ms. Hooters Colorado Pageant, which will feature dozens of Hooters girls from across the state. They’ll be judged on overall beauty, runway presence and an ability to work the crowd, all for the chance to stay abreast of the competition and move on to the International Hooters Pageant in Las Vegas later this year.
While swimwear is always a favorite category with the crowd, contestants also get to show off their crafty side, during the Hooters Handmade Outfit portion of the pageant. “They can get as creative as possible with different themed outfits — as long as they have the Hooters logo on it,” says Claire Schmalstieg, regional marketing manager for Hooters Colorado. Past outfits have included sports-team-themed regalia as well as firefighter and cop ensembles.
Doors for the 2013 Ms. Hooters Colorado Pageant open at 6:30 p.m. at the ViewHouse, 2015 Market Street; the contest begins at 7:15. Tickets, $15, are available at any Colorado Hooters location; for more information, call 303-337-7070 or visit face-book.com/hooterscolorado.
