Ladies and gentlemen, grab your scorecards: It’s time for the third annual Caveau/New Genesis Oscar Viewing Night. Guests won’t need a tux or a Vera Wang gown, though, says Denise Newman, of New Genesis, a transitional housing program that will benefit from the event. “You don’t have to get super-dressed up, and you can relax with friends.”
The night includes a Godfather-inspired menu and select wines from Coppola Wineries, along with Moët et Chandon, movie trivia and a little friendly competition: Before the big show begins, each guest will receive an Oscar ballot and must fill in picks for each category prior to viewing. As the celebration winds down, prizes will be given for correct choices.
The party starts at 4 p.m. at Caveau Wine Bar, 450 East 17th Avenue. Tickets are $50 per person, $90 for couples; proceeds benefit New Genesis. Space is limited, so advance purchase is highly recommended. Get more information at www.newgenesis.org/events.htm.

Will you step up to support Westword this year?
At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $23,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
