$20,000

Another summer (woo-hoo!), and again, the East End Arts District is kicking up its heels with its annual Summer Art Walk. The sixteen-block area along East Colfax — between Clinton and Geneva streets — is the place to be today and tomorrow as this budding-art-district-that-could proves that Aurora is more than Denver’s redheaded stepchild. “The hardest thing we face here in Aurora is that it’s Aurora,” says Kim Harrell, owner of East End Applied Arts.

Roam around and enjoy everything from Magic Mountains — photography from Hunan, China — at Downtown Aurora Visual Arts, to Domesticated, at East End Applied Arts, to all-day raku firing by Fireworks Studio, to spoken-word and hip-hop workshops and belly-dancing performances at Fletcher Plaza. Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. tonight and noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow; admission is free. For more information, visit www.auroragov.org/artwalk or call 720-203-3575.

Fri., June 1, 6-10 p.m.; Sat., June 2, 12-6 p.m.
