One of Denver’s most beloved and well-known green spaces will host a new event this weekend: the Cheesman Park Art Fest. More than 100 local jewelers, photographers, glass-blowers, potters and painters will be showing and selling their wares at the inaugural fest, with prices to fit any budget.
“Cheesman Park is known for its beauty, and the festival has been created to complement that beauty with a simple, high-class, art-focused event,” says festival director Liz Gore of Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festivals, which will host the outdoor pop-up market. B-cycle will provide bikes at a discounted rate, and festival-goers are encouraged to walk, ride or carpool to the park. Local food trucks will be selling delicious eats, and Chimney Choir, Ali Grayson and Tony Dollar will perform live throughout the day.
The Cheesman Park Art Fest opens today and tomorrow at 10 a.m. on the southwest side of the park, near the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Williams Street. For more information, visit riograndefestivals.com.
