Denver Arts Week unlocks one of the city’s most precious secrets: Almost all of the events and places falling under its diverse cultural banner are actually available to the public nearly 365 days a year, give or take an hour or a day. First Friday gallery walks and dozens of concerts and theater events will unfold in its spotlight, , beginning today and continuing through next Saturday, enhanced by Visit Denver $52.80 deals and hotel and restaurant specials.

Night at the Museums, probably its biggest promotion, takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. tomorrow evening and still leads the pack as a unique event: Fourteen Denver museums are included on the shuttle route beginning at the Denver Art Museum, with a short list of additional suburban venues also playing along; all will offer free admission (though tickets and reservations are still required for the DAM’s Van Gogh blockbuster and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science’s A Day in Pompeii).

Tonight, though, DAW kicks off with a Know Your Arts First Friday, a magnified version of the monthly gallery fest in seven districts. Next weekend, a gallery-walk rerun will focus on RiNo, with special events on November 9, and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the newly remodeled McNichols Building cultural center in Civic Center will open its doors for Denver Treasures, featuring free performances, gallery shows and guided history tours all day long. A district-wide celebration in Cherry Creek will wrap things up on November 10.
