Ben Roy has some catching up to do: While his mates in the Grawlix — Andrew Orvedahl and Adam Cayton-Holland — are both promoting brand-new solo CDs, Roy is still recording his followup to last year’s I Got Demons. Tonight at 8 p.m., he’ll perform at the second of three dates at Comedy Works devoted to capturing the incandescent angry man onstage, live and in the moment.

Roy recently told us that he’s going into this project with his freshest work, rather than a compilation of routines from over a period of years; should you go, be prepared to laugh…maybe even a little too much. For tickets, $12, visit the Comedy Works online; the last show of the series goes down at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 19.

Will you step up to support Westword this year?

At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $22,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
