So the votes are in and the winner of the 2010 Ullr Parade is Ullr’s Voyage to Breckenridge, pictured above. Second went to the Nordic Skiing Gnome by the Breckenridge Nordic Center, celebrating their 40tth anniversary. Third place was the Liquid Lounge for Live Life, Memory of Erik Peterson.
I judged for the third straight year. Maybe I wasn’t quite tipsy or on psychedelic substances enough to sway the vote as I had in year’s past, but I was pulling for the carpe diem spirit of the third-place float that bore my namesake, pictured after the jump.
The event was marked by a decided lack of snow, despite the numerous pleas to the Great God of Snow for just a little powder. Come on, Ullr. We had scantily clad women and men. We had a bobblehead Ullr. We even had a dude on a unicycle. What else do you want from us?
