Nothing gets people tapping their feet and letting loose to the beat like good old-fashioned bluegrass. Mix in some fine local microbrews and enough food to fuel a hoedown, and you’ve got yourself the Old South Pearl Street BrewGrass Festival.
“This festival is a real hit,” says organizer Nicole Jarman, noting that more than 5,000 people attended last year’s fest. “So many people came that parking in the neighborhood was limited, so I suggest taking the light rail or using public transportation,” she advises.
With eight bands ― Split Lip Rayfield, Whitewater Ramble and the Giving Tree among them ― ready to jam well into the afternoon and evening, this year’s BrewGrass is sure to repeat that success. The one-day festival takes place today starting at noon on the 1200 block of Pearl Street in Boulder; admission is a mere $5. Call 303-734-0718 or go to www.hobnobevents.com for more information.
