Bedazzler be damned! The kids over at the South Broadway boho boutique Fancy Tiger have grabbed more than thirty local crafters to peddle their homespun handiwork at the first annual Holiday Handmade fair — and this ain’t your grandma’s craft bazaar. There will be potential gifting goods such as Vital Industries’ vinyl appliqué octopi to trick out your toilet; Kastroll Kreations’ cool crocheted and elasticized tulle cowboy hats; Hollyhock’s wallets made from colorful zippers; and tons of T-shirts, handbags and housewares to peruse.

“A lot of cities have these kind of renegade craft markets,” says Fancy Tiger’s Jaime Jennings. “This is Denver’s alternative craft fair. If you want to buy a handmade gift, this will be the place to get it.”

Get your craft on today from 6 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Capsule Art and Event Center, 560 Santa Fe Drive; admission is free. For more information, call 303-733-3855 or visit www.fancytiger.com.
Fri., Nov. 30, 6-9 p.m.; Sat., Dec. 1, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., 2007

Will you step up to support Westword this year?

At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $22,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
