The folks at Vail sure know how to throw a party, and they prove it every year with Vail Snow Daze. The 2007 version will be no exception, with live musical performances by Ludacris and the Roots, for starters, as well as special guest appearances (Ziggy Marley is on tap for Thursday, December 6).
Snow Daze kicks off today with free ski tips, tunes by DJ Peter Blick (who’ll play for skiers and riders throughout the event) and the Coors Light Cold Front Party. The fun continues through December 9 and includes such highlights as a fashion show, a snowball-eating contest and the ever-popular Dummy Gelunde World Championships.
In the Dummy Gelunde, teams of three create snowriding dummies and send them careering down an on-snow course, hoping for victory and mad props from judges and onlookers. Each dummy will be scored based on overall speed, best crash-and-burn, biggest air, best costume and outstanding dummy agility.
