Comedian Rob Delaney isn’t afraid to talk dirty, and the majority of his jokes revolve around sex in some way. But where most comedians would delve into an offensive universe ruled by testosterone, Delaney manages to craft jokes so absurdly misogynistic that he believes they end up championing woman more than insulting them.
In one of his bits, Delaney explains it all, “I’m a feminist: One of my favorite things about any woman is her breasts. Media puts out horrible images of emaciated woman, and I want you all to know, all breasts are great.” More than anything, he’s honest about himself and how he views the world. Subsequently, he’s garnered a large support group of people online that trust him to be authentic and funny. Aside from standup comedy, he’s also a writer and occasional performer on cable TV, as well as a columnist for Vice, where he’ll often delve into topics from his standup in-depth, or just respond to a strange sex question from someone on Twitter.
Delaney will be at the Gothic Theatre, 3263 South Broadway, tonight at 7 p.m.; tickets are $15. For more information, visit www.gothictheatre.com or call 303-788-0984.
