You’re a heartbreaker, dream maker, love taker, don’t you mess around with me! If your Valentine’s Day is shaping up to match Pat Benatar’s painfully cynical lyrics, take heart: Elway’s Downtown, 1881 Curtis Street, in the Ritz-Carlton, is celebrating the virtues of singlehood with an Ice-breaker – Not Heart-breaker happy hour that started on Thursday, February 11, and runs through tomorrow. The reasoning behind the revelry, explains Parool Shah, spokeswoman for the Ritz-Carlton, is that “Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples, but also for singles who want to meet new people and make new friends.” And maybe score a date. Or break the ice over adult Mad Libs or card games, which you can play while sipping happy hour cocktails with seductively suggestive names like “Playmate” and “Skinny Dip,” both of which are made with NUDE vodka (natch).

And because food enhances just about anyone’s mood, single or otherwise, exec chef Robert Bogart is rolling out a love boat of appetizers, most notably oysters in all guises — Rockefeller, fried, Rocky Mountain and the shooter variety — because, you know, they’re aphrodisiacs. No ardor for oysters? Bogart’s board also includes a crab, avocado and arugula salad and conk fritters. The happy hour love fest heats up beginning at 4 p.m. in the bar.
