Anna Strong was a badass bounty hunter long before she became a vampire. But now that she’s joined the ranks of the undead, she’s just that much better at her job. It’s a good thing, too, because the brand-new Haunted puts Strong in the middle of a cartel crossfire as she tries to rescue a missing girl and help her shapeshifter buddy, Calebra, escape his past. She’s going to need every last bit of her vampiric power and elite bounty-hunting skills to survive, and things are going to get bloody before it’s all said and done.
“She’s battling Mexican drug cartels, and they’re not nice people,” explains Jeanne Stein, Anna’s creator. “They have done terrible things to her friends and people that she’s come to care about, so when the vampire takes over, when she’s trying to save her friends, she gets to unleash the beast.”
Find out what happens after the fangs come out when Haunted is released today. Stein will be at the Highlands Ranch Tattered Cover, 9315 Dorchester Street, at 7:30 p.m tonight to read and sign the book (copies are $7.99); for more info, visit www.jeannestein.com or call 303-470-7050.
