What started more than a half-decade ago as a collaboration between 303 magazine publisher AB Aharonian and local stylist Charlie Price has grown into a two-day, must-see scene: Denver Fashion Weekend Fall 2013, which features close to two dozen hair salons, boutiques and designers, including names like Mona Lucero, Garbarini and El Salon. “It was originally a smaller show with a few local designers and hair stylists, a way for the magazine to celebrate fashion in Denver,” explains Lindsay Maynard, 303’s editor-in-chief.
With one night devoted to fashion and one devoted to hair, each skill set gets a chance to shine at this showcase of the Denver couture community. DJ Lindsay LUV — the woman behind the turntables at the legendary Victoria’s Secret runway shows — will get the party going tonight; local DJs are slated for tomorrow’s catwalk.
The fall 2013 edition of Denver Fashion Weekend kicks off with a fashion show at 8 p.m. tonight at City Hall, 1144 Broadway; tomorrow’s hair show will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 to $50; for more information, visit 303magazine.com.
