Beer and bacon lovers will unite to celebrate two of the best things in the world at today’s Bacon and Beer Festival. More than twenty breweries will be on hand to pair their beer with 26 bacon-filled treats from local restaurants. The event sold out in each of its first two years, and organizers expect the same this time around. “There are just so many bacon and beer lovers in Denver that the event continues to grow each year,” says Alex Weissner of Denver Off the Wagon, which is co-hosting the festival with Eat Boston. In fact, more than 2,000 pounds of bacon were consumed in the first two years of the fest.
Participating breweries include Crazy Mountain, Crooked Stave, Elevation, Epic, Former Future, Great Divide, Odyssey Beerwerks, Renegade and River North. Among the restaurants taking part are Glaze by Sasa, Hops & Pie, Ignite!, Jax Fish House, Jonesy’s EatBar, Linger, Panzano, Rosenberg’s Bagels, Ste. Ellie and the Corner Office.
Weissner says she’s especially looking forward to trying Ignite’s deviled eggs with candied bacon pieces and Linger’s candied bacon flatbread.
The festival runs from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the Curtis, 1405 Curtis Street; tickets start at $46.50, and proceeds benefit Project Angel Heart and Metro CareRing. For more information, go to baconandbeer.net/denver.
