Denver comedian Josh Blue has been out of the local circuit for quite a while now, keeping busy with tours and television and headlining shows across the country. But he’s back in town tonight for a hometown gig at the Comedy Works. “I’m excited to come home and perform in Denver,” says Blue. “It’s my favorite city.”

It’s been almost a year since Blue last performed in town, which means he’s got some new stuff to show off. “It’ll be about 95 percent new material,” he says. “All the traveling means I’m constantly writing and testing new jokes.”

Getting it right is especially important for Blue now, since he’ll be recording an hour-long special in April. But the audience can still expect to hear plenty of self-deprecating, cerebral palsy-infused jokes.

Blue takes the stage at 7 p.m. at the Comedy Works, 1226 15th Street; admission is $22. For more information, visit www.comedyworks.com or call 303-595-3637.
