Everyone loves pancakes, and if you’re fundraising, they’re a great means to an end. That’s what the folks at the Colorado Anti-Violence Program have found, and today they’ll cook up their fifth annual All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast, raising money for a hotline and services for victims of violence against members of the GLBTQ community. “It’s a really beautiful event to celebrate the GLBTQ community and its allies in Colorado, and to support a great cause,” says spokeswoman Greta Leach. “Part of preventing violence is building strong communities.”

To that end, they’ll be serving all-vegan ’cakes (with gluten-free options), toppings, juice and coffee from 10 a.m. to noon today at Manual High School, 1700 East 28th Avenue; a gang of celebrity servers from inside and outside the GLBTQ community — Eneri Rodriguez of Maple Street Pie Company, who will supply a special pancake topping; Israel Oka of DAMN Gurl!; Art From Ashes youth poet PJ Sykes; and Wheelchair Sports Camp frontwoman Kalyn Heffernan, to name just a few — will pour on a little glamour.

Admission to the flapjack fling is $5 to $25 on a sliding scale, and kids under eight eat free; for more information and a link to buy tickets, go to www.coavp.org.
