$20,000

In May, the inaugural Denver Flea drew thousands for a flea-market shopping spree in City Park. But for today’s fall installment, the event’s organizers are trying something a little different by teaming up with TheBigWonderful outdoor food market for a shared experience in Curtis Park’s Sustainability Park.

“The first Denver Flea was great — we reached people who already buy that way, but also attracted a lot of families and visitors who might not have known about the vendors and small businesses we support,” says spokeswoman Samantha Alviani. “This time, we hope to make use of Sustainability Park, which already has a built-in demographic. And with TheBigWonderful being a food incubator in the same way that we’re a local-business incubator, they go hand in hand.” The result is an entrepreneurial mash-up of all-local foods and finds, featuring food trucks and culinary vendors, craft-beer stations, more than seventy craft and vintage vendors, and even a movie screening.

Get to Sustainability Park, 2500 Arapahoe Street, between noon and 6 p.m. for the Denver Flea at TheBigWonderful and have a blast; register ahead of time online and get a free beer (or an alcohol-free, locally roasted cup of joe) at the gate. Admission is free. For more information, including film details and a list of vendors, visit denverflea.com.
