Twenty-two-year-old Luke Mueller describes himself as “good-looking and charismatic,” calls himself a “salesman with ADHD,” and says he and his business partner, Kevin Rice, “make an outstanding team.” But when Mueller and Rice first began searching for models to form the Denver Diamond Girls, they didn’t have a lot of luck. “It was a lot harder to convince a girl in the bar to come over and let me take her picture than I would have liked,” Mueller says. It wasn’t long, however, until they got their shit together, formed Bluefront Enterprises and had girls who had previously blown them off begging for a second chance.
“It was never about sleaze or porn or exploitation,” Mueller says. “Once I had risen above the skepticism just enough for people to realize I was for real, I inspired myself to go even bigger.”
Big is the name of the game tonight as Colorado’s newest group of high-class promotional models celebrate their coming out with the Denver Diamond Party, a mélange of fashion and hip-hop featuring duds from i.can.d; music from DJ Chonz, Jon Swift & SWK and J-Steel; a celebrity appearance by native son and USC running back LenDale White; and a laser light show. The party starts at 9 p.m. at the Gothic Theatre, 3263 South Broadway in Englewood; cover is $20. Get more information at www.diamondgirlsonline.com.
