Every month, Seven Cups brings in a speaker to discuss Chinese culture or tea culture — or both! “For me, it’s a way to give back to the community and educate them about two of my passions,” explains Seven Cups owner Greg Fellman, and this month is no different. In fact, the Chinese Ghost Stories talk planned for tonight has been more than a year in the making.
“One of our customers approached me about doing it last year,” Fellman recalls, “but it was a little too late. It’s a passion of his — he enjoys old Chinese folk tales and tales of spirits, stuff like that.”
Shapeshifting animals, hopping corpses, Hell Month, Ghost Festival, spirit weddings, paper talismans and Daoist exorcism are just a few of the topics this hour-long talk will touch on. The fun starts at 7 p.m. at Seven Cups, 1882 South Pearl Street; admission is free. For more information, call 303-777-2877 or go to www.sevencupsdenver.com.
