Since it finally feels like winter, it seems appropriate to begin throwing “official” holiday parties. Consider the Gorinto Pedicab Holiday Party the first one of the new year, going down tonight at the Mercury Cafe. $5 gets you in the door for a night of bands, booze and jug music, while another $5 unlocks the taco bar madness.

This installment of Gorinto — the weekly Wednesday night freeform, community-centered gathering — is promising ping pong and a jug band performance, along with sets by Blacktooth Rounders, Guns N’ Rosa Parks, All Liver No Onions, Aaron Foster and White Leather.

Bringing the pedicab theme into it all, if you are in fact a pedicab driver, show your license at the door to be handsomely rewarded with a free beer ticket. If you do the math, that’s one jug band, four non-jug bands, a game or two of ping pong, unlimited tacos and a possibly-applicable free beer for just $10. TGI Wednesday!
