If you’re funny, you gotta podcast. Neither the first or the last to realize that, veteran funny man Greg Proops, whom Drew Carey has called one of his favorite comics, launched his own live “Proopcast,” The Smartest Man in the World. And he records it with a live audience, both at home in Los Angeles and on the road, when he isn’t chatting up Chelsea Lately, Paul Provenza’s The Green Room and the podcasts of others. How funny is it? Rolling Stone named it one of the Ten Best.

The road brings Proops — who first leaped to fame as a member of the zany Whose Line Is It Anyway? crew on the BBC and later on Drew Carey’s American version of the improv comedy series — to the Comedy Works in Denver for a three-night stand. But only tonight’s 10 p.m. show will be preserved for posterity as a Proopscast. Curious about what that might sound like? Check out previous podcasts on Proops’s website.
