Red Delicious is a printing press, and it’s also a place: The printmaking facility and co-op named after its centerpiece — the candy-apple-red enameled press that gives the space life — offers opportunities and classes for artists, as well as an exhibit area. Even the venue itself, housed in the old public library building in downtown Aurora (designed in the 1950s by notable Denver architect Victor Hornbein) is a work of art.
The fledgling Red Delicious Press gallery, 9901 East 16th Avenue, demonstrates the collaborative process of printmaking and highlights a limited-edition portfolio of woodcuts by co-op members with its second show, Beginnings. The display continues through April 5; for details, call 303-366-2922 or go to www.reddeliciouspress.com.
