There may be more than one way to learn a language, but for Kelsey Horine and the rest of the Alliance Française de Denver crew, there’s only one way to truly experience a culture: immersion. The proof is in the pairings at today’s French and Italian Wine and Cheese Tasting, which also features live Italian music by Simeone and Alessandra Tartaglione and a sampling of French and Italian language classes taught solely in the foreign language.
“I really think that events like this speak to people and build a stronger relationship with the potential consumer than just having our brochure out or something like that,” says Horine, marketing director for the Alliance.”When you’re immersed in a culture, you learn how to say things in Italian or meet someone who shares this passion; you develop a more invested interest in learning about the cultural diversity.”
Immerse yourself at Translations Gallery, 773 Santa Fe Drive, from 6 to 9 p.m. Enjoy five different pairings (and go back for thirds) for just $30, or $25 for members of the nonprofit. Get more information at www.afdenver.org or by calling 303-831-0304, ext. 103.
Wed., June 6, 6-9 p.m.
