As the long, hot summer of 2012 blazes on, the idea of Christmas in July starts to look pretty cool. But that’s not the only reason the cabaret-style Denver’s Dangerous Theatre is bringing back an abbreviated version of its, um, Christmas classic, Kentucky Claus, a slightly raunchy backwoods holiday story about a bunch of yokels caught in a blizzard, for just one weekend, with Santa in tow.

Dangerous will donate $5 of every ticket to the Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance, an organization currently providing services to Aurora shooting victims. And, if you mention the theater’s Facebook event page, you’ll also get a $5 discount off the $15 fee. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Even better? Next weekend, Dangerous will restage another holiday show, the silly whodunnit Who Killed Santa?, replete with Christmas song parodies, at 8 p.m. August 3 and 7 p.m. August 5. Same deal applies.
