The Colorado Rapids take on the New York Red Bulls today in a game that should provide a few fireworks of its own. “If the match is anything like the last nine between these two clubs, there will be lots of goals,” says Rapids spokeswoman Christa Dellebovi. “The two sides have averaged 4.66 combined goals since 2008, with the Rapids scoring four goals against New York four different times.”
After the game, enjoy live music, karaoke and fireworks — a possible perk this year because of Colorado’s wildfires.
A free pre-game July 4 fest begins at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, 6000 Victory Way in Commerce City; game time is 7:30. For tickets, which start at $29, and more information, visit coloradorapids.com.
