Loss and Finding

Colorado Pregnancy and Newborn Loss Services provides assistance in dealing with feelings that often languish behind closed doors, in the private worlds of women who’ve miscarried or lost a child at, or soon after, birth. So Colorado writer and genealogy buff Robert L. Root — whose book, Recovering Ruth: A Biographer’s Tale, details his search for the true author of a pioneer woman’s diary he found, researched and published with annotations — seems a fitting guest for the organization’s Author Event fundraiser. And in fact, CPNL director Dorotha Cicchinelli intimates that the book holds an even more direct link to the nonprofit’s cause.

Learn the whole story tonight from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Four Mile Historic Park, 715 South Forest Street, where the group will host a literary evening that also features a silent auction, hors d’oeuvre, and artwork inspired by miscarriage and other pregnancy-related losses from the Secret Club Project in Massachusetts.
