Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You
We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Watch Captain Swift fight for humanity! Witness the devious alien plot to assassinate the Galactic President! Marvel as he escapes malevolent computers, crash landings, fetid dungeons! Thrill to the unparalleled sense of adventure and wonder! Tune in for all twelve thrilling episodes of Captain Swift and the Invasion From Dimension X, appearing only on stage at the Bug Theatre!
“We’ve got robots and aliens and rocket ships and green-skinned women and just about everything a good science-fiction show should have,” promises Seth Iniguez, creator and director of the sci-fi melodrama. In between each of the serial’s twelve five-minute episodes, a variety of musical, magical and comedic acts will perform. The resulting program should stay engaging even for the most restless among us, kids included (and it’s all family-friendly). “It’s going to be very fast paced, short-attention-span theater, with a heck of a lot of entertainment crammed into a reasonable price,” Iniguez says.
Captain Swift opens tonight at 8 p.m. at the Bug, 3654 Navajo Street, and continues through April 24, with shows Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and matinees Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10, $8 for students, seniors and military, and $5 for kids twelve and under.
