$20,000

Travis Newton is the kind of guy who likes to kill two birds with one stone. “What we try to do,” says Newton, owner of Denvernightout.com, “is we try to take a venue and some artists and create an event where we can market several different things.” Thus, his latest brainchild: Tatts & Tunes, a three-day tattoo convention showcasing twenty Colorado tattoo artists (many of whom will be tattooing on-site at reduced hourly rates), performances from local bands, contests, stilt-walkers, random entertainment and — why not? — a car show. And it’s all free.

Tatts & Tunes starts at noon today at Casselman’s Bar & Venue, 2620 Walnut Street and continues from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit www.denvernightout.com or call 720-242-8923.
