Every year, I have grand plans for all the homemade gifts I’m going to make. You see, my mother was Ms. Crafty when I was growing up, and she always had beautiful baskets overflowing with home-canned peaches and jellies and sourdough starter. Or quilts she’d made, afghans she’d crocheted, scarves she’d knitted. People clamored for her gifts.
But despite my best intentions, my plans never seem to come together. The A-Team would be so disappointed.
There’s little excuse this year, however, since Fancy Tiger, the crafty boutique at 1 South Broadway, is hosting Holiday Craft Mayhem 2006 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and noon to 6 p.m. tomorrow. Come by and visit owners Matthew Brown and Jaime Jennings, who will help guide you with any mid-completion projects you bring in, as well as direct you to some new ones. They’ll also have coffee and sweets on hand all day long to keep your motivation high.
It sure beats toiling away by yourself.
