It’s a beautiful day to get out and see some art in Denver — but you can skip the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. After pipes burst in the building yesterday, the MCA had to close for the weekend. Here’s the message from the museum:
MCA Members, Friends & Visitors,
Early Friday morning, a pipe above one of the 2nd floor galleries burst and flooded the upstairs and entry area of the museum. Luckily, none of the artwork was damaged! However, we will be closed until Tuesday to let the museum dry out (since we’d like to remain an art museum and not convert to a waterpark).
The Museum and Café will also be closed September 19–22 for remaining repair work.
Our fall exhibitions and events will remain as scheduled with our big fall party, on the evening of October 7th, celebrating the opening of three exhibitions: Kim Dickey, Nathan Carter, and Bodacioussss (mark your calendars).
We apologize for any inconvenience, and can’t wait to see you next week and at the opening. If you had planned to visit us this weekend, drop us an e-mail at weoweyou@mcadenver.org for a little somethin’ for the inconvenience.
