One thing’s for certain: Godzilla, King Kong and a robot have more in common than most of MCA Denver’s Mixed Taste lecture topics. “Mixed Taste is tag-team lectures on unrelated topics,” says MCA development director Scott Anderson. “The audience gets to listen to two totally different lectures on two unrelated topics, and then, at the end of the lecture, draw conclusions on the connections between those two lectures.”

Tonight’s Monster Mash: Godzilla vs. King Kong and a Robot isn’t a lecture; rather, it’s the official preview party for the sold-out popular series and a spring fundraiser to help support MCA Denver’s educational and public programs. “We’ll be incorporating some of the themes, speakers and performances from the past season and announcing this year’s lineup for Mixed Taste,” Anderson explains. And although he wouldn’t give any hints as to what some of this season’s highlights might be, he did say that Godzilla, King Kong and a robot would make appearances throughout the night.

The Monster Mash kicks off at 6:30 p.m.; admission is $125 for general admission, $150 for admission plus an annual membership, and $200 for admission plus a Mixed Taste season pass. The museum is at 1485 Delgany Street; for information, call 303-298-7553 or visit www.mcadenver.org.

Will you step up to support Westword this year?

At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $20,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
